Our Partner in Ministry in Ethiopia
The Rift Valley Vision Project functions under the auspices of the Evangelical Church Fellowship for Southern Ethiopia. We are partners in training and sending missionaries into unreached areas of Ethiopia and the surrounding nations, especially to Muslim peoples. 120 missionaries are currently trained each year in our Certificate of Missionary Outreach program that combines classroom training with practical fieldwork. These students are fully supported during their 9 month program including housing, food, tuition and books. Supplemental times of ministry and encouragement are held each year where missionaries are brought to Awassa for 2-3 weeks of refreshing, prayer and teaching.
Ethiopian evangelist raises woman from the dead
To the right you see a picture of a woman who was raised from the dead by the missionary standing at the left (her husband stands to her right). As the clinic staff was about to take her out to be buried the missionary and family prayed and God did a miracle in the name of Jesus by raising her up. This miracle is only one of many such testimonies from these powerful and anointed missionaries sent out by the Rift Valley Vision Project. Another group of 120 missionaries and church planters will be trained this year at SBCE in cooperation with RVVP. Please consider sponsoring a missionary or a student at $100 per month for a 12 month commitment. Trained missionaries are sent out under RVVP. Support is being provided to missionaries in the field through a micro-lending scheme in which they received approximately $500 one time to start a business which can provide ongoing support for their family. Businesses are chosen based upon appropriateness to the location. Examples include goat husbandry, chicken and egg production, and bee hive-honey production projects. The missionary repays their loan over a 3 year period providing an opportunity for others to receive the same help. We believe this is a sustainable model that can allow for the expansion of the missionary outreach program up to the goal of sending 5000 missionaries into Islamic and unreached areas in and around Ethiopia. A new project proposal FOA would like to partner with RVVP to accomplish is the Halaba Community Center project.
