Shiloh Bible College Ethiopia
SBCE is an accredited Bible College program run in partnership with the Evangelical Church Fellowship providing education for students from all denominations and churches of Ethiopia. Currently we have programs on our main campus at Awassa and satellite programs in Wolayta Sodo, Humbo, Ambo, Debre Zeit and Nazareth (Adama). With a current student body nationwide is approximately 700.
Through SBCE we train pastors, evangelists and ministers for churches across Ethiopia at the degree, diploma and certificate levels in English and Amharic. 120 students each year study in our Missionary Outreach Certificate program which is a 9 month program combining classroom and field work preparing students to evangelize and plant churches in Muslim areas both in Ethiopia and the surrounding nations. Students are sent out and supervised by our partner in ministry, the Rift Valley Vision Program which is a part of the Evangelical Church Fellowship for Southern Ethiopia.
Minister and Family Support Programs
Supported missionaries, pastors and evangelists are men and women who we know personally as to their character and their work and who are in need of personal and family support to carry out their ministry. Currently we support:
- Pastor Dinberu of Debre Zeit, Galilee Church
- Evangelist Philemon of Awassa working among unreached tribes in Southern Ethiopia & NorthernKenya.
- Abayneh, Great Commission Director for the Southern Region,Musa, a converted Muslim providing teaching in support of Muslim evangelism
- 5 RVVP missionaries
Dr. Gary Munson travels extensively in Ethiopia conducting conferences, seminars, and events which will broaden to other nations in Africa and the Middle East as travel funds become available.
Through partnership with Friendx of Africa we conduct Medical Outreach programs in which medical professionals from the US visit Ethiopia to conduct mobile clinics and health education programs in towns and villages.
Approved Projects Awaiting Funding
Partnership Projects with Rift Valley Vision:
1) Community Center Programs: Developing community centers in strategic areas providing such essential services as a water well, medical clinic and educational support. These centers support our Muslim Outreach programs and are placed in conjunction with Missionary work being done by our Ethiopian graduates.
2) Micro Loan Project: Through this project RVVP provides startup capital for missionaries and Christian leaders such that they can support themselves in a sustainable manner. A typical loan is $500 USD and provides capital to begin goat husbandry, poultry raising, bee and honey production, and similar such income generating projects appropriate to the location.
Lofty Cedar Children’s Ministry (Ezek. 17:22)
The director of this ministry has been our long time friend and co-worker who now runs her own ministry to children in Duber, Ethiopia. This ministry has 6 hectares of land with many large buildings ready to house orphans, a school and a youth center. 86 children have been interviewed and have been accepted for ministry as funds become available. Children with family will be provided with money for school fees and related expenses, children with no family will be housed at the center.
School of Islamic Outreach
Our purpose is to provide an introduction to Islamic teaching and culture taught primarily by converted Muslims and those working actively in the field of Muslim Outreach so as to provide both teaching and practical experience in Muslim outreach and church planting strategies. Find more information here.
Educational Projects
Educational support for schools through leadership development, library development and similar programs. As funds become available we plan to build schools in areas where none exist presently such as in rural areas especially in a manner that will support Muslim outreach and church planting efforts.
